Marriage Island Weddings & Quinceañeras San Antonio

Marriage Island is the most popular site for weddings on the San Antonio riverwalk. Approximately 360 weddings are performed here each year, roughly averaging one wedding a day. Marriage Island gains its popularity from its history as the location of the first Catholic Mass in San Antonio. Local folklore claims that anyone married on the island will have a prosperous and long lasting marriage. The Island requires a permit for use issued through the City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department 210-207-7275. Permits are issued in half hour increments and cost $200.00 on the half hour. Marriage Island is not outwardly identified by any signage, however the island is located in the heart of downtown San Antonio on River Level, directly behind the Hotel Contessa at 306 W. Market Street San Antonio, Tx 78205 . Parking is available adjacent to the hotel on commerce street, at the Hotel Contessa, or just a few blocks away at River Center Mall.
